Amid her possessions on the front porch of her Mandeville home near the lakeshore Jennifer Riisness carefully peels apart family photos cemented together by flood water. Everytime one breaks away unscathed she lets out a little yell of excitement. “Each one is a victory,” she said.
this is a sister and a brother from a family of five. after waiting four days for help that never showed up they walked to algiers pointe where they waiting in squalid conditions to be ushered onto buses/helicopters to their next destination….whatever that was…..

this is a story shot in a day. arther robinson is a dying breed in new orleans these days. the last of the street vendors, every morning he picks up produce in his old and raggedy pickup truck and meanders through neighborhoods broadcasting his products over a loud speaker in a sing-song voice. he’s been doing it for around 16 years and his father did it all his life.
