This past weekend Noel and I road tripped to Savannah to search for her new home. I’ve been looking at the work of Richard Koci Hernandez a lot lately and was inspired to try some of his techniques between searching for apartments and sweating in the street. I suppose it’s not that surprising that many of my photographs featured Noel. I mean, it was a whole four days dedicated to her. Four very exhausting days.

I discovered an amazing new dive today in Pascagoula. Delicious seafood and characters included? Yes, please. It has officially gone on my short list of summertime ventures. By the way, it’s also National Fried Chicken Day. Go wild.

I shoot fashion with minimal equipment. Not because I particularly want to, but because the budget has always been…zero. So I’ve learned to make due with what I have and to make what I don’t. My attempt at a ring light, not so hot (the tupperware pieces soon fell apart and now rest in an early grave inside a file cabinet). But others have been, while not resilient, at least functional. My best friend is the morris mini slave. This shot was taken with only one softbox, coming from the right. I placed the morris mini to the left, outside of the caged in area the model was positioned in, allowing for a dramatic accent light in order to make a much more dynamic image.

This weekend I traveled to Lumberton, MS to partake in an extravaganza of blues and blueberries. Great music, excellent company and delicious food. Overall it was a wonderful trip (minus the freak allergic reaction that resulted in a hasty midnight exit for benadryl).

And a couple with the IPhone, so it doesn’t feel left out.
